Unlimited Legal and Financial ReferralEmployees and their household members have access to free legal and financial telephone consultation through the PRO EAP toll-free access number. Unlimited Dependent Care ReferralAs we all know, the general population is growing older and people are having children at older ages. This trend means many employees not only have the responsibility of care for their own children, but also for their parents. Employees have free elder care and child care telephone consultation through PRO EAP’s toll-free access number. Counselors can advise on issues such as a parent who needs partial or full-time care or a child who might need special care. Callers can also be referred to elder care or child care facilities and community resources through the PRO EAP website or the toll-free telephone number |
PRO EAP Website ResourcesEmployees and their household members have access to the PRO EAP website, which provides extensive work/life information with links to community resources, a library of topical articles, tips on dealing with specific feelings and situations, and several interactive tools, including self-assessments and personal development plans. |
Supervisor/Management Telephone ConsultationOften a supervisor or manager must deal with a troubled employee but isn’t quite sure how to handle the particular situation. PRO EAP provides unlimited, supportive telephone consultation, on a case-by-case basis, to supervisors and managers dealing with one or more troubled employees or situations. The supervisor or manager may simply call the toll-free PRO EAP telephone number to receive immediate guidance. |
Workplace Trauma ResponseOccasionally, an incident occurs that evokes a disturbing response from most or all employees at a worksite. If such an incident occurs, PRO EAP is just a phone call away to offer response options. Examples of traumatic events at a worksite include an employee death or suicide, a workplace violence situation, or a tragic community event. |
Introductory Employee OrientationUpon implementation, an orientation video for each worksite is supplied to the employer for use at employee orientation meetings. The video introduces PRO EAP services and provides information about how and when to use the services. A web broadcast session may be coordinated upon the employer’s request. |

Return-to-Work Case ManagementSometimes an employee requires time away from the workplace for psychiatric or chemical dependency problems, and in some cases, an employee may potentially be a hazard at the worksite. To help minimize employer risk in these situations, PRO EAP counselors conduct after-care coordination with the employee and may establish a “Return-to-Work Agreement” with the employee. Counselors evaluate the employee’s ability to return to work and help to ensure the employee is dedicated to completing appropriate treatment before and after returning to work. |
Substance Abuse Consultation and RecommendationEmployers in industries such as trucking, railroads, airlines, public transportation, oil and gas, utilities, and construction are challenged with maintaining updated substance abuse policies and potential treatment plans. Through PRO EAP, employers and their human resources departments receive assistance in developing these policies and treatment plans, including a return-to-work plan and treatment referral program. |
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) ServicesCISD services are one step beyond offering telephone response options during or after a traumatic incident. When an employer calls PRO EAP because a traumatic event has occurred, specially trained counselors and facilitators will be onsite within 24-72 hours, depending on worksite location, to provide counseling support and service coordination for the company and its employees. |
Promotional Program MaterialsPRO EAP’s success in increasing employee productivity and decreasing absenteeism depends on the program being actively promoted to the workforce. All employees receive a variety of promotional materials that introduce PRO EAP and explain how to use the program. Employers also receive promotional posters to post in worksite locations. Ongoing promotion of PRO EAP includes quarterly newsletters and timely, topical electronic distribution of behavioral health wellness information and articles that may be used at the employer’s discretion. |
Convenience ServicesSometimes an employer needs services not originally purchased with its PRO EAP package. PRO EAP offers many additional services that employers may tap into on an as-needed basis. For additional information, the employer may contact its PRO EAP Account Manager. |
Utilization ReportsEmployers receive periodic program utilization data summaries, based on group size, that include the number of individuals using the services, the level and amount of service delivered, potential trends in problems identified, management referrals, and demographic information. Typically, a standard quarterly report is generated and sent to the employer. Upon the employer’s request, a PRO EAP Account Manager will work with the employer to create a report that fits the employer’s specific needs. PRO EAP services provided to employees are strictly confidential, and specific information that could possibly identify an employee is not included in these reports. |
